National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria
NAMRB is the national representative organisation of all 265 municipalities in Bulgaria. As such, they advocate for the rights and the interests of all municipalities before the central government and on the EU level. They also facilitate the exchange between their members, organise trainings, institutional and other events, as well as disseminate information, tools, guidelines and other materials to all local authorities.
NAMRB has a Standing Committees (SC) for digital and innovative administration. This is one of the 14 working bodies dealing with all priority topics for the municipalities. The members are 145 - elected local representatives – mayors and municipal council, as well as deputy-mayors, municipal experts and professionals from 91 municipalities. The SC provide expertise regarding the current legislation at national level and support the preparation of opinions and positions, as well as serve as network for communication and exchange of experience and best practices between the municipalities. SC are also platforms to raise the awareness and capacity building. Content-wise the SC deals with administrative e-service and management; deployment of systems using artificial intelligence by creating expert and management capacity; policies for updating the software and hardware provision of the municipalities; cybersecurity and others.
